Elections matter.
The 2022 midterm elections are the next round in a decades-long battle for the future of our country and our democracy. The climate crisis, clean air and water, jobs, reproductive rights, racial justice, education, marriage equality, immigration — they're all on the ballot this November.
The battle for control of the Senate is central to all of these and so many other vital issues.
That's why we're fighting to elect and re-elect pro-environment candidates in races nationwide — including Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock, Nevada Senator Catherine Cortez-Masto, and Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman — who could make the difference in Congress. Can we count on you to stand with us?
Donate to the NRDC Action Fund to help elect environmental champions like these in November's midterm elections — and help us break the fossil fuel industry's stranglehold on Washington, address the climate crisis, and chart a course toward an equitable clean energy future for all. If you give now, your donation will be MATCHED for twice the impact for a short time only.
Here is a breakdown of the candidates:
- Senator Raphael Warnock is running for reelection in a very tight race in Georgia against a candidate hand-picked by Donald Trump. Rev. Warnock hasn't just preached about the moral case for environmental justice, he's delivering clean energy jobs to his state. Give now >>
- Senator Catherine Cortez Masto is running for reelection in Nevada, a battleground state that will be incredibly difficult to win this November. She is a leader in protecting our public lands, and now she's facing an opponent who's in the pocket of fossil fuel lobbyists. Give now >>
- Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman is running for the U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania. He has a track record of fighting for environmental justice as Lieutenant Governor and has pledged to do the same in the Senate. His opponent is Trump-backed millionaire Mehmet Oz, but Fetterman can win and flip this seat from red to blue. Give now >>
Right now we have razor-thin margins in both houses of Congress, and our future depends on electing climate champions who will stand up to Big Oil. We need every single one we can get.
Victory isn't assured, of course. But this is our chance to win lasting, transformative change both nationwide and locally for our communities. Without a pro-environment majority in the Senate, Congress wouldn't have recently passed the strongest climate legislation in U.S. history, which will grow solar, wind, and other clean energy innovation in addition to expanding climate justice programs for communities and families across the country.
There's much more work to be done, especially to achieve true climate justice. This election will determine how far we can go in the months and years ahead.
Donate today and for a limited time your donation will be matched, dollar for dollar, to go twice as far to help us elect climate champions to Congress and mobilize the public and lobby elected officials on behalf of our communities and environment.
We will be keeping you updated in the critical weeks and months ahead. Thank you for fighting alongside us, today and every day.
Sincerely,
Kevin S. Curtis
