Harriet Hageman, who just beat Liz Cheney in Wyoming’s at-large congressional district GOP primary:

“Joe Biden is the largest or the most destructive human trafficker in our history.”

Joe Kent, who defeated another pro-impeachment House Republican in Washington’s primary:

“We are at war.”

It’s despicable — and while it will be tough enough serving with them while we retain the majority, it would be far, far worse to be in the minority, at the mercy of Kevin McCarthy’s far-right agenda of serving only Trump.

Vanishingly few Republicans will admit that President Biden won the 2020 election — disturbingly, there are far more who repeat Trump’s Big Lie and go even further with their violent, conspiratorial rhetoric.

They see how Trump and his top lieutenants, like Kevin McCarthy, have rewarded Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, Lauren Boebert, and Jim Jordan for their ridiculous behavior, and validated their bogus claims of voter fraud by vowing revenge on me if Republicans retake the House majority.

They repeat incendiary, false claims from the same online cesspools that are the source of so much violent, hateful rhetoric. Networks like Fox News, Newsmax, and OAN broadcast those spurious claims, spreading them even further. All the while, extreme, far-right politicians ratchet up the fear, anger, and divisiveness they hope will carry them to victory.
