John,

This anti-Semite casually insulted everyone who lost a loved one in the Holocaust, and I'm so sick of it.

Scott Jensen, the particular idiot the GOP nominated for Governor of Minnesota, yet again pulled the crap Republicans repeat like a tic--he compared live-saving, COVID-prevention measures to the Holocaust.

It makes my blood boil.

I am too young to have known them, but my family lost numerous members to Adolf Hitler's genocidal regime, and I can't tell you how much it enrages me when historically ignorant, casually stupid and completely cynical jackasses like Scott Jensen make this comparison. It is sick, really.

The list is of obtuse, power-lusting Republicans who've done this is too long to name, but you know the most infamous ones: Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, Madison Cawthorn and Scott Perry, all seditionists who helped Trump plan and cover up a bloody coup attempt on January 6th, and in Perry's case, an individual who has already had his phone confiscated as evidence by the FBI after the Mar-a-Lago raid.

It is not a coincidence that those who casually, almost gleefully mention the Holocaust, are the very same ghouls who are trying to bring fascism to America, via armed rebellion if necessary.

Back to Jensen. As you can probably guess, he also believes the 2020 election should have been overturned and his LT. Governor candiate on his ticket made abhorrent comment that "women always want to go to the rape card,"  mocking women wishing to terminate a pregnancy brought on by the ultimate act of violence against them. Jensen would ban all abortion except when *they* determine a woman's life is in danger.

When you dig further into his record, his sociopathy becomes more and more apparent. Jensen said he'd commute the sentence of former police officer Kim Potter, found guilty of executing African-American motorist Daunte Wright at a traffic stop in 2020. This is a sick, deeply-racist individual who should be getting evaluated, not nominated to run for governor. But, ya know, today's Republican Party.

Governor Tim Walz, formerly a Democratic Congressman, responded after the murder of George Floyd by forcing a special session of the legislatures to pass sweeping police reform measures. He supports everything you'd expect, from his 100% rating from Planned Parenthood to strong anti-disrimination laws on the basis of sexual orientation.

And Walz believed, during this once in a century pandemic, that, no, IT WASN'T NAZISM to enact emergency measures to protect Americans from death and grievous sickness, in particular babies, the elderly and the immuno-compromised.

Walz is an adult, with an adult understanding of policy, democracy and the empathy to want to expand it for all of us. Jensen is a sick, twisted ghoul who casually throws around comparisons of health measures to the systematic slaughter of Jews in Europe, most often by choking to death while gasping for oxygen in gas chambers.

Thank you as always for all you do, my friends.

Cliff
