Yesterday, the American people heard directly from Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

And what they heard was the undeniable truth that Russia interfered in our 2016 presidential election, and that President Trump obstructed the investigation into this serious attack.

The Trump campaign welcomed Russian interference, accepted it, lied about it, and used it to their benefit.

And contrary to President Trump's claim, the Special Counsel's report does not exonerate him of obstruction of justice.

Because of the Special Counsel's testimony yesterday and the weeks of continued obstruction from the Trump administration into Congress' investigation, the House of Representatives must begin formal impeachment proceedings against President Trump.

I do not come to this decision lightly, but when the facts undeniably demonstrate that the president obstructed justice and is continuing to do so, Congress must act on its constitutional duty.
