Leen Valley welcomes Ukranian refugees

Local Leen Valley residents Elizabeth Thraurs has taken in refugees from Ukrainian, mother and daughter Anya and Viktoria.

Elizabeth explained she wanted to support a family and do what she could to support due to the war in the county. Elizabeth supports the family and also takes them to the Ukrainian centre so that they can socialise with other displaced Ukrainian families in the area who have fled to the UK.

Councillor Dinnall has supported Viktoria to get involved in local activities including signing and Slimming World.

Leen Valley's Big Spring Clean

*The Leen Valley Big Spring Clean, 30th March 2022 in the Nuthall Road area was such a great success, even the inclement cold, rainy weather could not deter the Ward Councillors NCC Teams, NCH Team, partners and clean champions. *

The day was spent scrubbing out the moss on the footpaths, sweeping the streets, littering picking etc, Business and residents came out to say thank you for the event.  It was also good to have McDonalds, Nuthall Road staff joining in with the litter picking in the area.
