While Lafazan HQ will be buzzing with activity shortly (we're getting started early today!), I want to make sure I take a moment to thank you for all you've done to propel our campaign across the finish line.

As a 28 year-old county legislator, I don't match the standard description of a candidate for Congress. I don't have decades of political contacts that come with being a career political insider and cronies who I can call in for favors. And I certainly didn't have the blessing of the establishment.

But our campaign had a few things going for us: we weren't afraid to try new ideas. We brought in more than 250 interns to build a movement that will last. And above all, we made sure that no one worked harder to listen and respond to the people of Long Island and Queens.

But the most important thing we've had is folks like you.

So many New Yorkers know the system is broken. We all see politicians yelling past each other every day, working harder on writing sarcastic tweets than on solving problems, or looking for approval from political insiders instead of everyday people and our working families.

I'm proud of our campaign's dedication to breaking that cycle, and our commitment to deliver on the common sense solutions we all know work.

So I'm grateful that today you and the rest of our supporters across the district finally get the chance to participate in our democracy. Thanks for pulling the lever for me.

More to come!

Josh
