Mayor Madeline Rogero and I are reaching out to invite you to a virtual fundraising event we are hosting on Monday, August 29th. in support of Nan Whaley, former Mayor of Dayton (2014 - 2022) and the Democratic nominee for Ohio Governor.  We both know Nan personally and have been impressed with her work as Mayor and her leadership at the U.S. Conference of Mayors, including serving as President (2021-2022). I also have a special connection with Nan as Dayton is where my mother grew up.

Nan won her primary in May, becoming the first woman to be nominated for governor in Ohio history. And Ohio needs her leadership now more than ever. Since the fall of Roe vs. Wade, the incumbent Governor and extremists in the Statehouse have implemented draconian measures to restrict the reproductive freedoms of Ohio women. Nan is running because Ohians deserve better. 

This event will be a great opportunity to hear firsthand from Nan about her vision for Ohio and her plans to flip the state blue (with our help) in November. Though we don’t live in Ohio, I am convinced that our country will benefit from her strong leadership as governor and her support for progressive state and federal policies. That’s why Mayor Rogero and I are trying to help her raise crucial campaign funds.
