Lauren Boebert cannot possibly bring herself to support real legislation that
helps millions, but she can help co-sponsor disgusting and unnecessary bills
that only threaten families and children across the country.
Marjorie Taylor Greene’s outlandish bill would make providing gender-affirming
medical care to transgender minors a felony, including surgery “for the purpose
of changing the body of such individual to correspond to a sex that differs
from their biological sex,” plastic surgery that “feminizes or masculinizes the
facial features,” hormone therapy, and puberty blockers.
According to health care professionals, providing gender-affirming medical
care is recommended by physicians and has proven to have health benefits such
as lower risk of suicide and improved mental health for those seeking
gender-affirming health care.
But according to Greene’s new legislation, anyone who performs
gender-affirming care would be committing a class C felony, punishable by up to
25 years in prison.
The current extremist wing of the GOP is determined to make everyone as
miserable as possible and force their beliefs on anyone. Politicians shouldn't
stand in the way of doctors who are trying to provide critical health care to
their patients.
It’s time to put an end to tyranny and the Christian Taliban that Boebert and
