Here is a quick look into who is on the ballot:
✅ Melanie D’Arrigo (U.S. Congress, New York): Melanie is the only female frontrunner in this race and the only candidate for whom abortion access is a leading priority. Polling showed that this race will be decided at the margins. Melanie can win with our support.
She will go up against former Conservative Party candidate Joshua Lafazan and others. Josh conveniently registered as a Democrat just before he announced his run for Congress. In previous elections, he ran with the Conservative Party of NY, which released the following statement in response to SCOTUS overturning Roe: “Today’s decision is a great victory for those who value unborn life. It’s been 50 years in the making, and the New York State Conservative Party could not be more pleased.” We absolutely cannot let this guy win the spot on NY-03’s Democratic ticket in November.
✅ Nikki Fried (Governor of Florida): As we all know by now, the current Governor of Florida is extremely dangerous. This is why Florida’s primary will be one of the most critical races in the country.
Nikki is the only pro-choice candidate running for Governor of Florida. Meanwhile, her primary opponent Charlie Crist has a history of being “pro-life”, and opposing same-sex marriage and adoption by gay couples. Recent polling also shows that Nikki has a better chance than Crist of beating DeSantis in November.
✅ Hava Holzhauer (U.S. Congress, Florida): Hava is the granddaughter of Holocaust survivors who is more than ready to fight for the Sunshine State in Washington. She is currently a leader in the Florida Office of the State Attorney, where she has worked to root out hate and fight for a Florida free of discrimination.
Meanwhile, the frontrunner in the race is Jared Moskowitz, aka the “DeSantis Democrat.” He has been appointed by extremist Gov. DeSantis for TWO different positions and has stated that DeSantis is a “brilliant man.” According to Forbes, Jared Moskowitz also approved an illegal $500,000 Ashbritt contribution to a pro-Trump super PAC.
✅ Michele Rayner (State Representative, Florida); Michelle has been called “Ron DeSantis’ worst nightmare” during her time in the State House. Now, she is running for re-election so she can continue to use her voice against the racist, homophobic leadership. And she is the only pro-choice candidate in her race.
✅ Allison Miller (State Attorney, Florida): Allison has dedicated her life to building a fairer system for everyone and reimagining new, more modern ways to break the cycle of recidivism. Her opponent has been at the State Attorney's Office for 43 years and is recently quoted in the Tampa Bay Times as saying, "One of the things that’s made this office so effective is the lack of change.” That’s when Allison decided to run against him.
Allison has pledged to never prosecute abortion providers, doctors, or those who attempt to access abortion in her jurisdiction.
As you can see, these are make-or-break primary elections tomorrow, and we only have 24 hours left to ensure our candidates win. Don’t sit on the sidelines. Help us support our candidates in these final hours by giving $20.22 or more to our Primary Fund immediately. → [link removed]
