It’s hard to believe but the photo above is Lake Mead.
Decades of inaction have led to one of Nevada’s – and our country’s – greatest natural resources dropping to historic levels due to unprecedented drought.
The Southwest relies on the health of Lake Mead for agricultural and survival purposes. It’s a major source of irrigation and drinking water for millions of people and we need to do all we can to protect it.
I’ve worked hard in Congress to pass legislation that will bolster Nevada’s water security as drought tightens its grip in our region. But, there’s still more work to be done and I could use your support to win re-election and keep up the fight. →
I remember Lake Mead a lot differently, folks.
Just 20 years ago, it was blue waters for as far as the eye can see. Now, receding water levels are revealing boats, car parts, and lost personal belongings from decades back.
Climate change is real, it’s the main reason why we’re experiencing drought, there’s no denying it at this point and it certainly isn’t rocket science.
And just last week, I was proud to vote in favor of the Inflation Reduction Act which will make historic investments in clean energy to fight climate change.
But, April Becker’s website doesn’t even mention a plan to combat climate change. This is a matter of keeping our state habitable for generations to come and Nevada deserves better than silence from their Republican candidate.
I’m used to fighting for Nevadans across NV-03 and am prepared to keep my sleeves rolled up and get back to work. But, accomplishing big-issue items like these takes help which is why I’m reaching out.
I’m up against the most far-right Republican to ever run in NV-03, and she doesn’t even have a plan to combat climate change. Can you chip in $25 or more to help me win in November and continue the work to reinvigorate our water security?
