Dear John,
Last week, President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act to combat rising healthcare and energy costs, while making the largest investment in clean energy in this country’s history. Although there is much to applaud in the Inflation Reduction Act, it is missing the mark in supporting struggling families.
In the face of rising prices and the many economic hardships families have had to endure throughout the pandemic, Congress cannot leave families behind by not expanding the Child Tax Credit or investing in affordable housing. If we’re serious about racial economic justice, we need to take a first step and invest in the most basic resources for children and families—especially in the BIPOC community.
What can you do? Join Prosperity Now and partners tomorrow in an August Recess #BuildBackforJustice Day of Action. You can take action by:
- Scheduling an in-district visit with your legislators for the week of August 22
- Sharing your voice (and elevate others!) during our 1 PM EST Tweetstorm on August 23
- Calling/emailing/tweeting at your legislators and tell them to Build Back for Justice
