Friend, there's not much time left: Helpless dogs,
as trusting and loving as those we share our lives with, are trapped in a
living nightmare. Workers bludgeon them, slit their throats, and strip their
skin so that it can be turned into gloves or a belt. We must stop this
violence.

For just ONE MORE DAY, you can do twice as much to help. Make your gift of
$5 or more to the "Save Our Skins" Matching-Gift Challenge today.

Every dollar you give before the June 30 deadline will be matched to help
animals abused for clothing, up to the $250,000 goal. Please, don't turn away
from their suffering. Give now.

Dear Friend,

Meyli is terrified. The floor around her is slick with the blood of dozens of
dogs killed before her, their bodies hanging on hooks or soaking in vats of
water. The slaughterhouse reeks of death—and she and the other dogs in the
holding pen are frantic to escape.

Soon, a worker will pull her out of the pen with metal pincers and bash her over
the head with a wooden club. Like many others, she may not die instantly—and may
writhe and struggle to breathe even after her throat is slit and her skin is
peeled off.

Meyli is no different from the loyal, loving dogs who share many of our
homes—but rather than receiving affection, she'll be violently killed so that
her skin can be turned into a belt or pair of gloves. Your gift of $5 or more
will help prevent animals like her from enduring torment and pain—and it'll be
doubled through PETA's "Save Our Skins" Matching-Gift Challenge.

What dogs like Meyli experience seems like a scene from a horror movie, but it's
happening in Chinese slaughterhouses right now. An employee at one facility told
a PETA Asia field observer that just that single operation killed and skinned as
many as 200 dogs each day .

The observer witnessed dog skin being turned into men's work gloves and other
items that are exported from China and sold all around the world to unsuspecting
consumers. This cruelty isn't isolated to the leather trade: Dogs and cats sold
at animal markets are also killed for their fur, and eyewitnesses have
documented that when rabbits, foxes, and others were bludgeoned and skinned on
Chinese fur farms, some of the animals' hearts were still beating even after
their skin and fur was cut off their bodies.

No animal should suffer for a pair of shoes, a wallet, or a bit of fur trim.
Your donation of $5 or more today will support our campaigns to help them—and
every dollar will be doubled, pushing us closer to our goal.

PETA's exposé of the Chinese dog-leather industry inspired members of Congress
to seek a ban on the importation of dog leather, and we're still building on
that momentum. Thanks to kind people like you, PETA's campaigns are pushing
iconic brands like Coach, Burberry, and Versace to go fur-free—and together,
we're driving down the demand for leather, wool, exotic skins, and all other
cruelly obtained materials so that no animal will suffer for "fashion."

Please donate to our "Save Our Skins" Matching-Gift Challenge today. Every penny
of your contribution will strengthen PETA's groundbreaking work to stop the
cruelty that animals face in the global skins trade.

Thank you for your compassion.

Kind regards,

Ingrid E. Newkirk
