3X MATCH ACTIVE: Help hold the Senate's environmental majority >>
Hi friend — we've just received the latest polling out of Georgia, Nevada, and Wisconsin, where pro-environment leaders are up against Trump-endorsed candidates.
The stakes are big — if we sweep these three states, we have a virtual lock on expanding the environmental majority in the U.S. Senate. If we lose these three, allies of corporate polluters will take control, blocking and even rolling back environmental reforms.
But the polls couldn't be tighter. There is a real chance that good candidates — who believe in science, support democracy, and want to protect public lands — will lose.
We can't let that happen without a fight. LCV Victory Fund and our state affiliates have announced a massive field organizing program in seven of the most competitive states, but our
plan depends on environmentalists like you to keep it going. So we're asking:
Can you chip in to support LCV Victory Fund's campaign to prevent polluter-friendly candidates from bringing us backwards? Help us reach our $25,000 end-of-month goal — your gift will be TRIPLE MATCHED if you give now.
Here's a quick look at a few of these key races, and how corporate polluters plan to get involved:
- In Georgia, corporate CEOs — including an oil industry executive — have started a dark money Super PAC to help elect Republican Herschel Walker, a climate change denier who has been endorsed by Donald Trump.
The latest Fox News poll gives Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) just a 4-point lead here.
- In Nevada, Republican Adam Laxalt has clear ties to big oil and is backed by millions of dollars in outside spending. They are hoping to unseat Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV), who has fought for clean energy and conservation of Nevada's public lands.
The most recent Emerson College poll gives Sen. Cortez Masto a 3-point lead.
- In Wisconsin, Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) has taken hundreds of thousands of dollars in direct campaign contributions from the fossil fuel industry. Sen. Johnson consistently opposed clean air and water protections, he voted to block the Clean Power Plan, and he has consistently voted to protect polluters' interests.
This one's tough — the latest FiveThirtyEight average gives Sen. Johnson a 3-point lead.
LCV Victory Fund has a plan to out-organize Big Oil-backed candidates in the places where it matters most. But we can't do it without the support of the
entire environmental movement.
Please, make a gift today to help LCV Victory Fund protect people and the planet this November. Your support goes THREE TIMES as far if you make a contribution now.
Each of these Republican candidates are featured on LCV Victory Fund's
Dirty Dozen list, which targets candidates — regardless of party affiliation — who consistently side against the environment.
If every environmentalist chipped in right now, we would easily hit our $25,000 monthly fundraising goal.
When we stand together, we can take on Big Oil and their dark money groups — and we can win.
Thank you for standing with us, friend. We'll be in touch with more on our plans to win this November.
Onward,
