Dear Neighbor,
Have you heard? My Health Care Affordability Act, included in the Inflation Reduction Act, was signed into law!
As a nurse, I understand the critical need for high-quality, affordable health care coverage. That’s why I introduced the Health Care Affordability Act, which makes tax credits for Health Insurance Marketplace plans more generous and available to more Americans.
The Health Care Affordability Act was first enacted last year for a two-year period. It has helped families of four save an average of $2,400 per year and led to 14.5 million Americans enrolling in Marketplace coverage this year. Now that it’s been included in the Inflation Reduction Act, Illinoisans can continue to rely on these savings through 2025. And I won’t stop fighting until lower health care costs are permanent!
I spoke about my work serving you in Congress on “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell.” Tune in below.
My legislation is a major step forward, but there’s still more work to do to provide relief to families. I will continue my work to lower costs and fight inflation for you and your family.
Sincerely,
|
