Dear Friend,
Tomorrow is the day! Thank you to every one who has RSVP'ed so far for the 20th Annual Women's Equality Day Luncheon from from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Hundreds are expected to celebrate this occasion tomorrow as we pay tribute to the groundbreaking achievements women have made for women's rights in Maryland while recognizing the work that must be done to strengthen women's rights across the country. There is still time to RSVP if you haven't yet, you can do so by clicking this link here. The theme this year is: Get Out Her Vote! - and with so much on the line in November, this will be a perfect opportunity to help mobilize women's voices in the Fifth District.
Joining us tomorrow is my friend and colleague Rep. Lucy McBath (GA-06), who will be our keynote speaker at this year's event. She has been a fierce advocate in Congress for mothers and women. In 2012, Lucy lost her teenage son to an act of gun violence. This tragic event sparked her advocacy against gun violence and a successful run for Congress. In the House, Lucy has focused on passing laws to help our children and families including numerous pieces of legislation that have passed the House, from universal background checks for all gun sales to "Red Flag Laws" to limit access to firearms for those who are potentially dangerous. I look forward to welcoming her as the keynote speaker at the 20th Annual Women's Equality Day Luncheon.
I hope you'll join me for this wonderful event. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call my campaign office at (301) 464-5710. I also encourage you to connect with me on Twitter by following @StenyHoyer and on Facebook by liking my Facebook page: [link removed].
