John,

First, SEEC members worked tirelessly to include historic commitments to combating climate change in the Inflation Reduction Act that lower emissions, subsidize Americans’ green investments, and empower industries to imagine new energy-efficient technologies.

Now, they’re on the precipice of passing another historic piece of legislation: the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act (RAWA)!

POWER MORE SEEC WINS [[link removed]]RAWA — a bipartisan initiative likely to be on the President’s desk this fall — provides $1.4 billion in funding to restore the American wildlife populations. This investment would go directly to state wildlife agencies to fund local conservation efforts. Many state conservation agencies already have detailed Wildlife Action Plans to save vulnerable species in their local ecosystem, but they’ve been chronically underfunded. RAWA paves the way for these plans to be fully implemented and make a REAL impact.

Currently, most conservation funding goes towards species that are hunted for sport or food. RAWA would shift that approach and expands capacity so state agencies can support vulnerable ecosystems, including species that are not often in the conservation spotlight!

RAWA also allocates $100 million for Indigenous tribes to manage conservation efforts in their own lands — funds that represent a long-overdue recognition of the vital work Indigenous people do to keep ecosystems healthy and functioning. RAWA is truly the wildlife package that has it all!

RAWA is led in the House by SEEC Member Rep. Debbie Dingell. She and her fellow SEEC members want to bring more bipartisan wins like this in Congress but they’ll need your support to do this, John. Legislation that protects our environment and is passable is POSSIBLE — only because people like you consistently back environmentally-minded Members of Congress! Keep up your commitment to our environment and to even MORE legislative wins by contributing to SEEC members today, John >> [[link removed]]

Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 117th Congress while we undo the damage of the Trump Administration.
