Please forgive the quick note, as I'm about to head back out for Air National Guard duty, but I want to take a minute to leave you with both encouragement and a challenge.

A lot of you have written to me lamenting Liz Cheney's loss in Wyoming -- and yes, its a sad reflection of what the Republican Party has become.

But there IS a bright side: Liz and I both will have A LOT more time to fulfill a mission much bigger than re-election: Saving Democracy, Solving Problems, and Ensuring Donald Trump and his Disciples will never again control America.

Country First is how we can all do that -- together.

This movement is for the Reasonable Majority -- made up of folks from all parties and of none -- and what binds this unlikely alliance together is our recognition that we will never achieve real, durable solutions unless we work together, and defeat those standing in the way.

Solutions that foster opportunity for ALL, safe and secure neighborhoods, great schools, and a stable climate. Solutions that leave our kids and grandkids a better America than we inherited. Solutions that don't belong to one party or political faction.

For the rest of this year we'll be focused on supporting leaders who LEAD; leaders who put our country before party; leaders who break the cycle of extremism. And I'll be proud to support good Democrats, good Republicans, and good Independents who are focused on that shared mission -- stay tuned!

John, the fight we're in right now is bigger than party, it's bigger than personality, it's bigger than policy. This is an opportunity for the Reasonable Majority to stand up together to save and strengthen democracy, OR we can stay stuck and divided in our comfortable tribes while the country slips away to authoritarianism.

I've made my choice. So has Liz.  America needs you; she needs all of us. So thank you for rising to the occasion, thanks for your support, and thanks for spreading the word. We can't do it without you.
