Join us for a virtual event to mark the 25th Anniversary of the
Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and explore lessons learned
over the last three decades about coverage expansion, the challenges of
state and federal collaboration, and future opportunities to sustain the
program and improve children's care.
The Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) was first authorized by
Congress 25 years ago this summer. Since then, the US has seen a
dramatic reduction in uninsurance and increase in access to care for
millions of young people at a time in their lives when investments in
health can have lifelong benefits.
At this month's Lunch and Learn, Health Affairs will explore lessons
learned over the last three decades of CHIP about coverage expansion,
the challenges of state and federal collaboration, and future
opportunities to sustain the program and improve children's care.
Presenters and discussants will include:
* Daniel Tsai, Deputy Administrator & Director of the Center for
Medicaid & CHIP Services (CMCS) at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid
Services (CMS)
* David Rubin, Professor of Pediatrics and Director of PolicyLab at
Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and co-author of the recent Health
Affairs Forefront article, "Regaining Momentum Toward Permanently
Funding The Children's Health Insurance Program"
Date: Tuesday, August 30, 2022
Time: 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Eastern
Access: Health Affairs Insiders
