IRC REPUBLICAN PARTY CHAIRMAN
Jay Kramer
Tomorrow, Tuesday, August 23rd is Primary Election Day. You can vote from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM if you have not already cast your ballot. Hopefully, most of us have voted. Please make sure to exercise your right as well as to help out Republican candidates. After the election, some of us will be disappointed by the outcome, especially if the candidate of your choice is not the winner. Each candidate has campaigned hard and long, and we are proud of their untiring efforts. This is democracy in action where parties pick their candidates to run against the opposing party in November. Wednesday, August 24th is a new day and a new effort. We all need to come together as a party to support the elected candidates. We need to put our differences aside and work together to make sure Republicans win in November. Our goal is to create a red wave that sends a clear and resounding message to those who have supported or are willing to take our country over the cliff. Nothing short of a massive rout will work. We need every Republican working in unity of purpose; take back control at every level of government!

Governor DeSantis has led the way on election integrity. From passing a best in the nation election integrity bill in 2019 to updating and improving on the 2020 election with updated language this year. In this year's bill, Governor DeSantis put resources into a new office of election crimes and security that is already paying dividends in protecting our votes.
See announcement below:
Governor Ron DeSantis announced that following investigations by the Florida Office of Election Crimes and Security and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), 20 individuals are being arrested by FDLE for breaking Florida’s elections laws. All 20 of these individuals were disqualified from voting after they were convicted of murder or a felony sexual offense, but they chose to vote anyway, and now they have all been charged with voter fraud — a third-degree felony punishable by up to a $5,000 fine and up to 5 years in prison.
Additionally, Governor DeSantis directed the Department of State to communicate to county Supervisors of Elections with instructions on records they must preserve until additional reviews and investigations are complete.
“In 2020, Florida ran an efficient, transparent election that avoided the major problems we saw in other states. At the same time, the election was not perfect, which is why we continue our efforts to ensure the integrity of our elections,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “Our new election crimes office has sprung into action to hold individuals accountable for voter fraud. Today’s actions send a clear signal to those who are thinking about ballot harvesting or fraudulently voting. If you commit an elections crime, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
“As elected leaders, it is incumbent on us to ensure free and fair elections and instill confidence in the voting process," said Attorney General Ashley Moody. "No voting system can stand without the backing and confidence of the people it serves, and thanks to Governor DeSantis, we are reinforcing that trust, and Florida’s elections system will serve as the standard-bearer for the rest of the nation.”
“I am grateful to Governor DeSantis for establishing the Office of Election Crimes and Security, and we are off to a great start at eliminating election fraud in our elections,” said Secretary of State and Chief Election Officer Cord Byrd. “These arrests put those who have no regard for the integrity our elections on notice and will ensure integrity in the voting process."
GOVERNOR RON DESANTIS
Three New Initiatives to Elevate Student’s and Teacher Learning
Governor Ron DeSantis announced three proposals for the 2023 Legislative Session that will help support and grow Florida’s teaching workforce and leverage the talents of Florida’s retired veterans and first responders. The proposals include a recruitment initiative targeted to bring retired first responders and retired veterans to the classroom through fee waivers and bonuses; an apprenticeship program that provides bonuses to teachers for mentoring aspiring teachers with an Associate degree to gain hands-on teaching experience; and a scholarship program for K-12 teachers interested in teaching dual enrollment courses on high school campuses.
“These three initiatives will build on our efforts to increase recruitment and retention of high-quality teachers. Great teachers don’t become great teachers because they are sitting in a university lecture hall. What makes a teacher great is being in the classroom, watching other teachers, and seeing what works,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “With today’s announcement we will be helping more teachers gain that critical firsthand experience and we will be recruiting first responders and veterans to continue their service in the classroom. Our students will greatly benefit from these programs.”
“Our number one educational priority is ensuring there is a high-quality teacher in every single Florida classroom,” said Florida Commissioner of Education Manny Diaz, Jr. “I have been holding roundtable meetings with teachers from across the state to learn more about steps we can take to improve our recruitment and retention efforts. Under Governor DeSantis’ leadership, I look forward to implementing these new initiatives and more to further increase Florida’s reputation as the education state.”
About Bonuses for Retired Military Veterans and Retired First Responders
- Provides one-time bonuses to retired military veterans and retired first responders who commit to joining the teaching profession for two years as a full-time classroom teacher.
- Recipients would also be eligible for an additional bonus, beyond the initial signing bonus, if they teach in a Florida Department of Education identified critical teacher shortage.
- This initiative would also expand waiver of certification exam fees to all retired first responders.
About the Teacher Apprenticeship Temporary Certification Pathway
- Establishes an additional pathway to becoming an educator. It will be the 13th different teaching pathway offered in Florida.
- Applicants must have an Associate degree from an accredited postsecondary institution, a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, and a successful passage of a background check.
- Once receiving a temporary certificate, the apprentice will spend the first two years in the classroom of a mentor teacher using team teaching requirements to further develop pedagogy skills. This component would fulfill the on-the-job training component of the apprenticeship and its associated standards, allowing individuals to earn a paycheck while working toward their bachelor’s degree.
- Mentor teachers must have at least seven years of teaching experience and highly effective ratings on VAM scores or district performance reviews.
- These mentor teachers will be eligible for a bonus payable half after the first successful year of the apprenticeship and half after the second year.
About the Dual Enrollment Educator Scholarship Program
- Establishes opportunities for K-12 teachers to receive scholarship funds towards their master’s degree to cover the full cost of tuition and fees and includes a book stipend each semester.
- Once educators earn their master’s degree, they will be able to provide dual enrollment coursework directly to students on a high school campus, increasing the availability of access to dual enrollment in Florida’s high schools, particularly in low-moderate income and rural schools.
- Applicants must be accepted into, or currently enrolled in, an approved graduate program in a subject in their area of certification and complete their graduate degree within three years of the award.

Florida Reaches Record Levels of Unemployment and Job Creation
Governor Ron DeSantis announced Florida’s unemployment rate dropped to a historic 2.7 percent in July as the state’s job creation skyrocketed. Florida’s July 2022 unemployment rate is the lowest since February 2020 and this level has only been reached three times since Florida began recording unemployment data in 1976. Florida’s private sector employment grew by an outstanding 70,000 in July 2022, doubling the nation’s job growth rate over the same period. Before July 2022, Florida has reached this level of over-the-month job creation only 6 other times since data began to be collected in 1990. Florida’s labor force also grew over the month in July 2022, while the national labor force shrank for the second consecutive month. July 2022 employment data demonstrates that Floridians are continuing to enter the workforce and businesses are continuing to create jobs.
Private sector industries gaining the most jobs over the month were:
- Leisure and Hospitality with 19,500 new jobs.
- Professional and Business Services with 16,400 new jobs.
- Education and Health Services with 12,800 jobs.
“Florida continues to outperform the nation because freedom first policies work,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “July’s job numbers represent one of the largest month’s job gains over the past generation and Florida continues to outpace the nation in labor force growth.”
The national unemployment rate was 3.5 percent for July 2022, 0.8 percentage point higher than Florida’s rate. Florida’s statewide unemployment rate has been lower than the national rate for 20 consecutive months and has declined or held steady for 24 consecutive months in July 2022, indicating that Florida’s economy is secure and resilient.
Total private employment grew by 5.5 percent (433,500 jobs) over the year, 0.7 percentage point faster than the national rate of 4.8 percent. Florida employers have added jobs for 27 consecutive months in July 2022, and Florida’s over-the-year private sector job growth rate has exceeded the Nation’s for 16 consecutive months since April 2021.
Florida’s labor force also grew by 26,000 (+0.2 percent) over the month, while the national labor force shrank by less than 0.1 percent. In July 2022, Florida’s labor force grew by 291,000 (+2.8 percent) over the year, faster than the national rate of 1.6 percent by 1.2 percentage points.
Data in the month of July continues to indicate there are many job opportunities available for Floridians throughout the state, with more than 545,000 jobs posted online. Floridians in search of work and new job opportunities are encouraged to turn to the CareerSource Florida network for help. Floridians can find guidance on how to register with Employ Florida and search listings of available local job openings. Career seekers also can improve their employability by perfecting resume writing and interviewing skills, establishing career goals, and pursuing customized career training. These services are provided at no cost to job seekers.
DeSantis Campaign Launches “the DeSantis Playbook”
Governor Ron DeSantis’s re-election campaign announced today “the DeSantis Playbook,” a first-of-its-kind resource for Floridians that details the Governor’s Freedom Agenda that has made Florida a national leader for parental rights, law and order, environmental protection, and fiscally-sound economic policies.
“Florida has consistently led the way on issues like keeping businesses open and kids in school, parental rights in education, standing up for law enforcement, and protecting our environment, all while enacting the largest tax relief package in our state’s history. For the past three and a half years, Florida has led with a freedom-first agenda, and we’re just getting started. The DeSantis Playbook is a guide for those who are following our blueprint for freedom here in Florida,” Governor DeSantis said.
“Florida’s Freedom Agenda is a model for freedom across the nation and across the world, and the DeSantis Playbook lays out what Governor DeSantis has been able to accomplish for Floridians during his first three and a half years,” First Lady Casey DeSantis said. “The Governor is unwavering in his leadership for freedom-first policies, all of which are detailed in the DeSantis Playbook. We look forward to sharing this with Floridians as a resource for what it means to govern with freedom at top of mind. I encourage all Floridians to host a Playbook Club to discuss the importance of good policies, strong leadership, and the stakes of the November elections.”
The DeSantis Playbook breaks down the Governor’s Freedom Agenda, including:
- Education: Putting kids first and protecting parents’ rights
- Fiscal responsibility: Florida’s economy outpacing the nation
- Law and order: Keeping our communities safe
- The environment: Keeping Florida beautiful
- Election integrity: Securing Florida’s elections
- Parental rights: Standing up for moms and families
- Pro-military: Supporting our veterans and active-duty military
- Floridians first: Fighting special interests

ATTORNEY GENERAL ASHLEY MOODY
National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day
AG Ashley Moody has announced that this weekend, we will recognize National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day. This is a somber occasion to remember those Americans tragically lost to fentanyl poisoning.
Illicit fentanyl is now the number one killer of adults, ages 18-45, and is responsible for tens of thousands of deaths across the country every year.
With such a grim and overwhelming statistic, let’s not forget that we are talking about human lives—daughters and sons, mothers and fathers, family members taken away too soon.
The Drug Enforcement Administration recently created a memorial inside its national headquarters called The Faces of Fentanyl. This exhibit contains pictures submitted by the families of those who lost their lives due to this growing crisis. It serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of drug use, as deadly amounts of fentanyl are being found in more common illicit drugs—including counterfeit pills.
So, please remember that just one pill can kill—and if you are struggling with addiction, seek help immediately.
For more information visit the Dose of Reality Florida website. The site serves as a statewide one-stop resource for information about opioid misuse, substance abuse treatment and where to safely dispose of expired or unwanted prescription drugs.

SENATOR MARCO RUBIO
Senator Marco Rubio Joined the Mark Levin Show to Discuss the Border Crisis, the FBI Raid at Mar-a-Lago, Far-left Marxism, and More
On how immigrants view the border crisis:
“I live in a community surrounded by immigrants. I can't walk a block without running into someone who came from another country. And people here are very upset about what's happening. It's easy for these people living on the Upper West Side in New York and in West Hollywood to not care about illegal immigration, because it's not their schools that are being overcrowded. It's not their hospitals with the long waiting times. It's not them that have to face the consequences of rampant illegal immigration.”
On the Democrats’ law hiring 87,000 new IRS agents:
“87,000…is larger than the British Army. It doubles the size of the IRS. We don't have 87,000 billionaires in this country. So, they're going to be going after [people who aren’t billionaires]. And you know what? People know this. People instinctively know that they're coming after them, that this is about going after them, that they're supposed to collect the $100 billion of taxes that they claim aren't being paid every year. That's what these people are going to go out there and do. They're going to harass working people in this country for a long time….
“By the way, they took down the posting, but they're talking about the IRS agents being armed and, yes, being able to use deadly force. Who [wrote that]? Honestly, it sounds like one of those satire articles, because it doesn't sound real. Unfortunately, it is.”
On the FBI raid at Mar-a-Lago:
“I wish I could say it's unbelievable. I didn't think I'd ever see it, but I don't think anything's past these people. We're talking about a six-year campaign now of thing after thing after thing. They tried to impeach Trump. He was out of office, and they tried to impeach him. We spent a week and a half focused on that, not on the big problems in this country. And so, none of this surprises me.
“Have you seen the leaking? The almost immediate leaking to the press of people with knowledge of the investigation about what they went in to look for, what they found? If this is a legitimate, non-political, apolitical investigation, there wouldn't be all this leaking. The only reason you leak things to the press is because you try to influence the narrative. And the only reason to influence the narrative is political. That's the only reason to do it. You don't care about public opinion when the public narrative is not political. They're almost immediately leaking to the press everything that they claim to be looking at, and of course you can't rebut it, because they're the only ones that know what they went to look for, what they found or didn't find, and what have you.
“Senator Mark Warner, a Democrat from Virginia, signed a letter with me we sent [to the Justice Department] saying: ‘You said this is highly classified stuff. That's what we do. We oversee counterintelligence. We want to see it. We want you to tell us. What is the intelligence in your possession that was so serious that it warranted this unprecedented police action: the 30 agents, the ransacking through the place?’
“But look, the leaks alone tell you everything you need to know. If this was a legitimate investigation, the Justice Department [would] refuse to even acknowledge there's an investigation, much less leak the way they do.”
On the role of government:
“There's not a lot of good things about COVID, but one thing that did come out of COVID is a reaffirmation of how important federalism is. How important it is that, to the extent government has control of our lives, that it be as close to us as possible. That it be at your city council, that it be at your county commission, that it be at your state legislature. Not in Washington, where you've got to try to influence someone who lives halfway across the country and you can't vote against.
“So, there's some things the federal government has to do. We have to have a military that's more focused on beating China in a war than it is on using the right pronouns. We have to be able to secure our border. There are things we regulate, like airplanes. We want our airplanes to be regulated so that they're safe and they can take off and land and the landing gear works and the person flying it really is a pilot. But after that…, it really now becomes a function—to the extent that government is playing a role—of state and local government. And you're going to have different laws in different places based on who people vote for in those places.
“I think that's part of this defunding the IRS argument. We don't need a massive IRS collecting a massive amount of taxes to fund a government that's doing things it shouldn't be doing.
“I'm not interested in American decline. I hear Biden, and it's one of the things they like to go around saying now, is, ‘We are moving to an era of sustainable and steady growth.’ To me, that sounds like we're moving into an era where we're going to manage America's decline. We're the British Empire after World War II. We're slowly going to be on the downhill trajectory, settling in. We’re an important country but no longer special. I have zero interest in that.
“This is the most special country in the history of the world. There is nothing out there to replace us except China [with] a Marxist, Godless regime that runs it. I don't want to live in a world where they're the most powerful country. I want to live in the America that is special and unique. And we have to have a commitment to that in our economic policy, in our domestic policies, in our foreign policy, and everything we do.”
On Marxism in America:
“I live in south Florida, which is not a majority conservative area. I've known liberals my entire life. I know them now. They want higher taxes. They want more government agencies. But that's not Marxism. Marxism is not even an economic model.... Marxism is about control. It's about controlling society. So when Marxists take over, they have to displace the family because they can't have parents undermining them. They have to displace religion and churches because they can't have God telling you what to do instead of them. They have to go into the schools so they can indoctrinate the kids. They have to take over speech, the words you're allowed to say and not allowed to say. They use government as an instrument for that takeover. And ultimately, they believe that people are not smart enough to govern their own lives. They believe in controlling every aspect of it. And they are never satisfied. That's the key. That's how you know it's Marxism.
“Marxism is never satisfied. They're not satisfied with control in Congress. They're not satisfied with controlling government. They don’t [just] want to control government, they want to control everything. There is zero aspect of our life that they will not try to take over and tell you how to run. And you see it. You see its tentacles everywhere. You can't watch a movie, you can't watch a television series, or a commercial anymore without seeing its influence on our lives. It just continues to creep and chip away.
“Maybe I am overly sensitive to it because I've grown up around people who have been warning about it for a long time. There were many years where I thought that would never happen to me—it just couldn't happen here. And now I see it and I see the inklings of it. I see the clear indications of the direction. And I think a lot of the people that are helping them do it have no idea that they're involved in this kind of a movement. They don't call themselves Marxists, but they have no idea that what they're pushing is an agenda that basically is Marxist in every single way.”
On the Hispanic community and Marxism:
"They've seen this movie before and they recognize it and they know this is always how it starts.… Someone takes over, they demonize the other side, and they tell you why it's so important that they be given all this power so they can make your life better because they care more about you than the other side. They’ve seen it.…
“Some of the most patriotic people I know are people that know what life is like in other places. Because when you know what life is like in another place and then you hear someone tell you how awful America is, you think they're nuts. And sometimes you get really angry about it because you know how bad life is in other places. And so, I think that's been a big part of it.
“I think the other thing we forget [is that] Hispanics in this country are predominantly working-class people and small business owners: the two classes most hurt by Marxism and by this administration and by the radical left. They're not happy with schools trying to indoctrinate their kids and teaching them that this is some sort of racist country. They don't want their kids growing up feeling like they're victims of some systemic oppression because they're not. They're here for the opportunity to work hard. So, the Democratic Party has not just abandoned working-class people, including Hispanics, they’ve become hostile to the interests of working-class people and their values.”
Unity - Calling All Republicans
More Important than Ever
As we approach the 2022 mid-term elections and the 2024 presidential election, and in light of the abject failure of the Biden administration, we know that the very survival of our republic depends on the outcome of those elections. Therefore, we must stay unified. Never lose sight of who our political opponents are… the progressive left Democrats who are taking our country off a cliff with the active help of Big Tech and the old-line national news media. Our fellow Republicans are not the enemy!
