John, it’s Kate, Elaine’s Campaign Manager.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Elaine runs a tight ship on and off the campaign trail – after all, she’s a twenty-year Navy vet!
That does make my job complicated at times. And especially now that Elaine’s one of the top targets for national Republicans, I’ve got my work cut out for me to keep this campaign organized and on-track.
The press, right-wing groups, and our Republican opponent are waiting impatiently to see our public fundraising report next month. We need to make it clear that we have the resources to forcefully counter any bad-faith attacks the GOP is planning to throw our way.
I’m checking in with Elaine tomorrow morning about our fundraising progress, and I really don’t want to have to tell her that our tight ship is down in the doldrums – in other words, that we're falling short of our end-of-month goal.
