Team,
Last week – along with attorneys general from New York and 19 other states – I filed amicus briefs challenging the near-total abortion bans in Idaho and Texas.
Here’s why: Because I believe – as do the majority of Californians and the majority of people in this country – that decisions about abortion care, and any reproductive care, belong to patients and their doctors, and not to politicians or the Supreme Court.
In states like Idaho and Texas, Republicans aren’t just restricting those rights. These radical bans are actively endangering the lives of pregnant people. It’s despicable, and I am not going to stand by.
Let’s be clear: Whether in a clinic or in an emergency room, abortion care is health care. And I will fight every day to protect the right of all – in California and beyond – to access health care.
But national Republicans are coming for this race precisely because I’m fighting for the fundamental rights of all – and I need your help to win this year. Will you chip in to my campaign to help me fight back?
Thank you, Rob Bonta |
