This week, we will almost certainly see Donald Trump become just the third president in nearly 250 years of our republic's history to be impeached.

But that's just step one.

The message is clear: the only way to stop Donald Trump from abusing his office is to remove him from it.

Trump treats rules, laws, and limits as annoyances for him to dodge, not instruments of fairness. His repeated invitations to foreign powers to meddle in our elections and attack his political opponents show that Trump sees democracy itself not as an ideal, but a nuisance.

As dangerous as Trump's behavior has been, it pales in comparison to what he might do if he feels there are no repercussions for his actions.

So we, the people, must make sure our voices are clear. This president must be impeached.
