John – The Jan. 6 committee hearings have revealed shocking details about Trump's role in the insurrection. Here are the top six takeaways:
1. Trump repeatedly pressured GOP state officials to overturn the results of the election.
2. Trump allegedly knew that there were armed rioters on Jan. 6, and called on these armed insurrectionists to march to the Capitol.
3. One of Trump’s aides said he grew violent when his team refused to let him go to the Capitol with the rioters.
4. Trump chose NOT to act as rioters breached the Capitol and refused to ask them to disperse.
5. As Trump watched the violence unfold at the Capitol, his tweets caused the Vice President’s Secret Service to fear for their lives.
6. In a series of outtakes from a taped address he delivered the day after the Jan. 6 attack, Trump refused to say the election was over.
With the DOJ launching probes into Trump and the FBI searching his Florida estate for classified materials, it’s clear that we’re closer than ever to holding Trump accountable for his crimes – but the GOP is pushing dangerous lies and we need grassroots Democrats to confirm that they’re not giving in:
