John, let me be upfront and tell you that yes -- I’m reaching out today to ask if you can make a donation to my highly competitive re-election campaign.
We’re approaching our mid-December deadline, meaning we’re halfway to the point of the month when we’ll have to publicly report our fundraising numbers for 2019 to the FEC.
We have a $14,000 mid-month goal to reach before then, and I want to quickly explain why it’s so important we do everything we can to get there.
Because our congressional race and the senate race are both highly competitive, Maine is going to be one of the most expensive states to compete in. John, special interest groups have dropped hundreds of thousands of dollars into our district attacking me -- and I fully anticipate those numbers will rise in the coming weeks.
Just like last year, these ads are filled with misleading lies and hyper-partisan language meant to divide us and distract us from the issues that really matter to Mainers. But here’s the most glaring difference: I’m an even bigger super PAC target this time because flipping ME-02 could result in flipping the House.
John, my team and I are counting on your help to reach our mid-month goal and prepare for a costly re-election campaign as we head into 2020. If you can pitch in even a few dollars, it would be greatly appreciated. >>
Respectfully,
Jared
