** Thank you for your support!
------------------------------------------------------------
Dear AdvOCAte,
On behalf of OCA-Asian Pacific American Advocates, we would like to offer our warmest holiday greetings and thank you for your participation and support of OCA throughout the years. Your time, passion, and generosity make OCA the nationally recognized AAPI civil rights organization it is today.
It was an honor for each of us to have served as your National President and see the growth and continuation of the organization’s impact. OCA owes its success to our members’ selfless actions and tireless commitment, which results in effective change and lasting community building. Though each of our terms had its own challenges, we have been able to overcome every obstacle largely due to the supporting force of our membership, chapter leaders, and community partners. We value your partnership as well as your friendship.
As we reflect on the past year, we are proud to be part of an organization that stands on its principles towards defending the civil rights of over 20 million AAPIs across the country. The past year saw a sudden surge of AAPI representation – in politics AND entertainment! However, AAPI candidates are not getting fair media representation and Asian American movies are still considered as “foreign.” We must continue to work for fair and accurate representation of our community, and uplifting the AAPI voice. For this, we need to build a pipeline of leaders that will bring AAPIs to the table in all sectors.
Today, we ask for your continued support and commitment. OCA has launched its end-of-year campaign, Building Future Leaders ([link removed]) , which will help fund our national internships and Civil Rights Fellowship. This will provide college students and recent graduates with the life-changing opportunity to live and work in Washington, DC alongside members of nonprofits, nationally renowned thought leaders, and influential Congress members.
By making a tax-deductible gift ([link removed]) this holiday season, you can help us meet our $125,000 goal and ensure that there is a pipeline of AAPI leaders for tomorrow.
With Warm Holiday Greetings,
Claudine Cheng, 1991, 1992
Ginny Gong, 1993, 1994, 2005-2008
Michael Lin, 1995-1998
Ken Lee, 2009-2012
Leslie Moe-Kaiser, 2016
