[1]Alex Padilla for Senate

Hi friends,

I don’t have the typical background of a U.S. Senator.

I'm the proud son of Mexican immigrants. I learned everything I know about work and opportunity from my parents. My father worked his way up from a dishwasher to head cook at a local diner with only an elementary school education, and my mother worked tirelessly as a housekeeper for affluent families.

I grew up right here in the San Fernando Valley and worked hard as a kid. I found refuge in books and baseball and eventually earned admission to MIT and graduated with an engineering degree.

Now, as California’s first Latino Senator, I’m working hard to ensure all Californians are afforded the same opportunities to succeed — no matter where they were born or what neighborhood they live in.

But Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans have other ideas. Instead of taking action to address the problems facing our state and our nation, they’re fighting to maintain the status quo that just isn’t working for so many of us.

So please, I’m humbly asking for your support so we can take them on and WIN. If you can afford to chip in, use this link to add a contribution today:

Thank you so much. It truly means the world to me to have your support as we keep up the fight for California's families.
