“Hello, my name is Daniella, I am a 15-year-old Roman Catholic. I come from a Roman Catholic family of 9, including my mom and dad and my 7 siblings. I come from a small town in the Central Valley of California.

“As you may have noticed, many topics have come up in recent politics, and have spilled out into the daily lives of those living here in America. The main topics that have come up are abortion and the LGBTQ community. Although my family and I have tried very hard to ignore these things, and pray for the people involved with them, I'm afraid it is corrupting our lives. And not just ours. I have heard of young children at my younger siblings' school claiming to be transgender or gay, or LGBTQ, and I'm afraid it will hurt not only those kids, but also my younger brother and sister. They are becoming confused. And having just finished my freshman year of high school, I realized just how prominent the issue of LGBTQ is in our society. I have been cursed at, yelled at, and been verbally abused by kids at my school for believing that is a sin. I have tried to share my faith with them, but they don't want to listen. To be honest, I am scared. I am afraid for these kids, I grieve for them, that they have grown up believing these lies.
