As governor of Kansas, I've always maintained that reproductive health care decisions should be between a person and their doctor, and I know Janet Mills believes the same.

But on August 2nd in Kansas, extremists tried to force their will on all of us by attempting to amend our constitution. I'm proud to say that Kansans stood up for our fundamental rights and rejected government overreach. But our work isn't done.

The dark money groups who tried to buy the August 2nd vote are now refocusing their efforts on my election and Janet Mills' campaign. As the most vulnerable governor on the ballot this year, I'm asking for your help to make sure they can't take us back in time.

Before I took office, Kansas was deep in debt, schools were drastically underfunded, and families were struggling, all thanks to a series of extreme ideological decisions of my predecessor.

Voters put me in charge of fixing those mistakes, and since then, we've fully funded our schools, added and retained tens of thousands of jobs, and built a record budget surplus. But just like in Maine, the politicians who drove my state into the ditch are now trying to take the keys back.

My opponent has a massive cash-on-hand advantage and dark money groups are pouring millions of dollars into my state to reboot their economic experiment. If we don't raise the funds to fight back, they'll push the same extreme policies in every state they can, including yours.
