John,

Ken Paxton is a criminal.

Texas Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton is a walking, talking criminal enterprise and shameless right wing extremist.

And if we do our part, he's about to lose to a Latina Democrat, a watershed moment in Texas and American politics.

Barely in office for six months, in July of 2015, a state grand jury indicted the supposed top law enforcement officer in Texas on three criminal charges, including 2 counts of securities fraud. In 2016, the Securities & Exchange Commission filed a civil enforcement action against Paxton for defrauding investors in a company he'd represented as legal counsel.

In October of 2020, seven of Paxton's top aides--including First Assistant Attorney Jeff Mateer--published a letter accusing Paxton of improper influence, abuse of office, bribery and other crimes. It's honestly almost comical that this clown is still Attorney General.

Paxton also filed suit vs numerous states where President Biden bested Donald Trump in 2020, trying to overturn the election results based on near-non-existent voter fraud and idiotic reasoning that was laughed out of court. He was brought up on ethics charges for this specious lawsuit by the State Bar of Texas.

Besides being a corrupt clown, Paxton is an extremist and traitor. He was in Washington January 6th to speak on behalf of Trump and rile up the violent, seditious crowd that eventually attacked the Capitol. He's pushed religion in schools, pursued felony cases for "voter fraud" against voters of color for accidentally putting the wrong address on voter registration forms, pushed guns on Texas campuses and supported court clerks violating the Contitution by refusing to issue marriage licenses to same sex couples.

I could honestly go on for days, because if there is something stupid. bigoted or downright criminal, chances are Ken Paxton has done it. This is why he only won his reelection in the red state of Texas by 3 points in 2018, and now he's in real trouble.

In a recent poll he is only leading Democratic rockstar Rochelle Garza by 2 points, 34%-32%. Because of all I just said above, this corrupt, cacophonous jack-in-the-box only has a 40% approval rating, and among the many--19%--of undecided voters, Garza beats him by 5%. Oh, and did we mention an Libertarian candidate is in the race supported by mostly disgruntled Republicans who won't vote for Paxton?

Garza, meanwhile, in 2017 took on then Appellate Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh, Trump and Paxton, defending a 17 year old detained immigrant who was denied the right to an abortion, AND WON. This case resulted in the "Garza Notice" which prevents teens in immigration-detention centers from being denied their right to bodily autonomy, even post-Roe.

Garza has outraised this monster ($520,000 to $340,000), she has outworked him and she outthinks him every day. She'd bring much needed diversity to the Texas Attorney General's office. With our help, she can beat him and work with Beto to help speed the transformation of Texas from a reddish-purple into a blue state. She is inches away from achieving this incredible feat.

Thank you for fighting for inspiring Democrats, and ending the careers of corrupt-hack Republicans.
