Dear John:

A wanted pregnancy can be cause for celebration, but it can also bring with it a number of stressors. One thing pregnant people should never have to worry about is whether they will be able to continue to work and support their family WITHOUT having to sacrifice their health.

As senators decide on which bills to bring to a vote after the August recess, they need to hear from you. Tell your senators they must take action to pass the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act.

Far too many pregnant workers in the United States face discrimination in the workplace. Many are forced off the job early, causing financial distress and complications with health coverage. Others are denied simple accommodations, causing health issues for themselves and their pregnancies.

The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act will ensure pregnant workers can get reasonable support to stay healthy and on the job. It would allow pregnant workers to receive commonsense accommodations in the workplace (like having a water bottle or a reasonable number of bathroom breaks).

Speak up today: Urge your senators to prioritize the needs of pregnant workers and bring the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act up for a vote as soon as Congress comes back from August recess.

Congress needs to start protecting pregnant workers. Tell them to pass the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act.

Thank you for your advocacy.
