I’ve had the pleasure of being friends with Lauren for the past five years. We met through a mutual friend and instantly connected over both of us loving New York, being funny (at least I think so), and being active in our communities. It didn’t take many friend dates for me to realize she is the most genuine and passionate person I’ve ever met.
Which is why when she told me she was running for Congress the first thing I said was: hell yes. The second thing I said was, how can I help?
Our first campaign staff meeting was in a deli on the Upper East Side. There were five of us. Now we have over 200 volunteers because people have learned what I learned five years ago: Lauren is a force of nature. She works hard and believes in the power of good people wanting to make a difference. It’s been an honor to be at her side as we fight to change the status quo and get NY-12 true representation for the first time in over 25 years.
