PFAW Member,
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has had at least two secret meetings with Donald Trump in the runup to the 2020 election -- and the American people need to know what they’re discussing.
It’s up to Congress to get to the bottom of Facebook’s role in the right-wing disinformation machine.
Add your name and tell Congress to investigate Facebook's involvement in right-wing disinformation!>>
Facebook was at the center of foreign interference in the 2016 election, pushing false stories in front of millions of people.
Since Trump took office, Zuckerberg has talked a big game about protecting its users ahead of the 2020 election. But Facebook’s actions speak louder than his words:
- Facebook is relying on partisan so-called fact-checkers like the Daily Caller and Breitbart.com to flag misleading posts, even though they are some of the worst offenders.
- Facebook continues to allow hate speech to fester on its platform.
- Facebook refuses to ban content in advertising that is untruthful.
- And the list goes on...
By allowing Far Right ideologies, lies, and racist hate to permeate on its platform, Facebook undoubtedly plays an outsized role in the misinformation that has plagued our recent elections.
In their refusal to hold themselves accountable for these problems, Congress must take action by continuing to investigate Facebook and, if necessary, pass laws requiring social media companies to regulate the content that is allowed to be shared.
Demand that Congress take action and begin by investigating Facebook>>
Thank you,
- Zach, PFAW
