Dear John,

While Pelosi and the Left seek to push their evil agenda through Congress, including codifying same-sex marriage, believers like you are daring to stand for biblical truth across the country and in every area of life, even professional sports.

The push for Christian athletes to affirm LGBTQ lifestyles has accelerated in the last few years, especially as more and more sports teams hold Pride Nights.

At the end of July, one such women's soccer team in North Carolina held a Pride night which included a pre-game LGBTQ festival and special rainbow-themed jerseys for players. Rather than bow to the pressure, one Christian woman on the team would not participate and dared to stand alone for what the Bible teaches about marriage and sexuality.

Jaelene Daniels, who lost a spot five years ago on the U.S. Women's National Soccer team for refusing to wear a LGBTQ rainbow-jersey, has counted the cost and was willing to continue standing for Christ even though doing so got her benched.

When she experienced her first firestorm for standing for biblical truth in 2017, Daniels accepted the fact that if she had to sacrifice soccer in order to stay faithful to Jesus, then so be it.

Daniels isn't the only Christian athlete who is daring to stand for righteousness in the face of the pressure from the LGBTQ community. In June, five Tampa Bay Rays baseball players refused to wear a rainbow-themed uniform for their team's Pride night game.

In a statement one of the players made on behalf of the group, they pointed to their Christian faith as the reason they chose not to participate. "When we put it on our bodies, I think a lot of guys decided that it's just a lifestyle that -- not that they look down on anybody or think differently -- it's just that maybe we don't want to encourage it if we believe in Jesus, who's encouraged us to live a lifestyle that would abstain from that behavior, just like [Jesus] encourages me as a heterosexual male to abstain from sex outside of the confines of marriage. It's no different."

Despite the push from woke sports corporations for their players to fall in line, athletes like Daniels and the group of Tampa Bay baseball players are courageously standing against evil.

As a retired lieutenant general, I've seen all types of battlefields and the spiritual fight we're facing today in America regarding sexuality is fierce. While many in our nation are surrendering to the evil forces at work in our culture -- including many Republicans in Congress -- Family Research Council is standing strong for faith, family, and freedom.

Since 1983, FRC has advocated for God-honoring marriage and sexuality in the heart of Washington, D.C. and across the nation out of obedience to God and His Word. As Ephesians 6:13 says, "take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm."

Will you join with FRC and believers across America and dare to stand in your community like these Christian athletes? A gift of $3.65 today signifies your commitment to stand for biblical truth 365 days a year. When you do, you'll also be signing the Dare to Stand Declaration to take up the full armor of God, resist evil, and do everything you can to advance a biblical worldview in your home, workplace, school, and community to the glory of God. By daring to stand with believers across the country, we can increase our impact to advance God's Kingdom.

Your gift will also help FRC encourage more believers to dare to stand and provide critical resources to equip Spiritually Active, Governance Engaged Conservatives (SAGE Cons) as we stand firm together for the right to exercise our Christian faith.

As a thank you for your Dare to Stand commitment, you'll receive a digital copy of FRC's America's Founding Principles booklet that includes our nation's founding documents and inspiring quotes from the Founders. We hope this resource encourages you and reminds you of the biblical basis for our cultural and political engagement.

When she faced backlash for standing for God's Word in 2017, Daniels said, "Maybe this is why [I was] meant to play soccer. Just to show other believers to be obedient."

Will you dare to stand with FRC today as we advance faith, family, and freedom, out of obedience to Christ for the sake of America's future?
