As a pioneer for Black politicians on Long Island, Town of Hempstead Deputy Speaker Dorothy L. Goosby’s support further illustrates the importance of the August 23rd primary. If elected, Legislator Carrie Solages would be the first Black Long Islander to join Congress and the first Haitian-American man in the nation.
