This week I hosted a successful U.S. Military Service Academy Night, attended another step in the opening of Santa Rosa County's new courthouse, and joined both Fox News and Newsmax to offer my perspective on the massive spending in Washington and the direction of the Republican Party. ACADEMY NIGHT AT NICEVILLE HIGH SCHOOL

I am proud to have hosted Tuesday's Academy Night at Niceville High School to relay important information regarding the Congressional Nomination process for aspiring First District high school students. With over 100 students and family members in attendance, the event was a testament to the patriotism and dedication to service in Northwest Florida.

SANTA ROSA COUNTY CUTS RIBBON AT NEW COURTHOUSE

On Wednesday, I was happy to participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Santa Rosa County Courthouse, which is scheduled to open in late September. This three-story, 110,000-square-foot building is a necessary update to our current courthouse, which has been in place for 30 years.

ATTENTION VETERANS: THE PACT ACT AND YOUR BENEFITS

The Sergeant First Class (SFC) Heath Robinson Honoring our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act was signed into law last week. The PACT Act, which I voted for in Congress last month, will give Veterans, who were exposed to toxic substances in the line of duty, expanded access to Veterans Affairs Department health care and disability compensation.

Benefits available now include:

-Changes to presumptive areas that had exposure to agent orange

-Revises dates to servicemembers exposed to radiation during atomic testing

-Continues benefits for surviving spouses after a Veteran passes away due to a service-connected disability

On Wednesday, I joined Tucker Carlson on Fox News, where we discussed the disastrous "Inflation Reduction Act." The Democrats, putting logic aside, think that by spending $400 billion and changing the bill's title, inflation can be reduced. Additionally, this bill shows that Joe Biden's plan to reduce inflation is to spend $80 billion of taxpayer money to fund the IRS, so they can come to take more of it from you.
