What I'm Doing Differently This Back-To-School Season
[[link removed]]
Back-to-school season is iconically a time of fresh starts — new pencils, new
notebooks, new shoes. But what about routines? Today, Alexandra Frost shares
three big things she’s doing differently this year, in hopes of a smoother start
to every day. She admits: “In my house in the past, mornings have been a series
of stressed-out exclamations, while I try to navigate hectic (more like
disastrous) mornings with four sons under age 7: Wake up! Come downstairs! Eat
breakfast! Hurry up! Why do you have no underwear on! Stop tackling your brother
while he’s eating!”

Check out her plan for a fresh start — and see if you want to lift any ideas for
your own home.

I Don’t Want To Pass My Hair Hang Ups To My Daughter
[[link removed]]
It’s a big and difficult part of parenting — recognizing your baggage and making
sure your kids don’t inherit it. Today, Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani is talking
about body hair, specifically: “I was mercilessly teased in elementary school
for having dark prominent hairs dusting all over my pale skin…. One of the
bullies left a single-blade Bic razor in my desk when I was 10, with an
accompanying note that said ‘You need to use this A LOT.’” And now she’s
wondering how to guide her daughter. Give it a read.
