Friend – Adam Schiff here, and I'll just get right to it: Florida's primary elections are right around the corner, and I'm putting my full support behind Val Demings for Senate.

If there's anyone who can defeat Marco Rubio and defend our slim Senate majority, it's Val Demings. I've worked beside her for years. She's brilliant. She’s tough. And she's fearless. She’s exactly the kind of leader we desperately need in the Senate – and that Floridians desperately need fighting for them.

With a brand-new poll showing Val Demings now tied with Marco Rubio, she's got a real chance to flip this Senate seat blue – but she can't do it alone. She needs supporters like you and me by her side. That's why I hope you'll join me in supporting Val ahead of the primary by pitching in today.

Val Demings is the perfect person for the job. She's spent her whole life serving the people of Florida, first as a social worker and then as Orlando's chief of police (the first woman to hold that position, may I add). While serving in the House, she's never tired of doing what's right – from advocating for affordable health care to our important work together during the first impeachment trial of the most dangerous president we’ve ever seen. There's no question that her tenacious spirit belongs in the Senate. 

But our Senate majority is razor-thin at 50-50, and experts have already predicted that Senate control could all come down to who wins in Florida. If Val Demings loses, Mitch McConnell could flip the Senate – so Val's is a campaign every Democrat needs to support. Because we can’t let McConnell take over. We just can’t.

I wish I could say this will be an easy race, but Rubio, McConnell and the GOP are coming after Val in full force – and they're prepared to spend whatever it takes to keep Florida red permanently.

We know their attacks will only ramp up once the general election kicks off, so what we do right now ahead of the primary will make all the difference. That's why Val Demings needs your help to expand her grassroots campaign and reach every Floridian voter.
