It's officially back-to-school season! Nearly half a million kids and students (and many more exhausted parents and guardians) are preparing for another school year in Kansas.
It's always been my goal as governor to make Kansas the best state in America to get an education, raise a family, and put down roots.
That's why I'm proud to say we've FULLY funded our public schools four years in a row. We invested $53 million into Kansas childcare providers to increase access to quality, affordable early childhood education. And thanks to our fiscal responsibility, Kansas' public universities held tuition flat for the upcoming school year.

When I took office, our schools were in disarray after years under Sam Brownback's administration. I knew we needed to properly fund our schools to ensure our kids receive the world-class education they deserve.
I was prepared to fight for those investments, and because of this team's support, we've rebuilt our public schools. Ensuring our children have access to a quality education not only helps them succeed, but also promotes economic development. And businesses succeed when we can provide employers with a highly skilled workforce.
