Mandela Barnes Leads Ron Johnson in latest Wisconsin Senate Poll

It’s been less than two weeks since Mandela Barnes became our Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin — and a new Marquette University poll shows him leading incumbent GOP Senator Ron Johnson by 7 points. Even Fox News' latest Wisconsin poll shows Barnes edging out Johnson.

We have a long way to go until November 8, but this is enormous. Flipping Wisconsin from Red to Blue in November would be a huge boost for our pro-democracy agenda. And these numbers show that, YES — Wisconsin IS flippable!

On everything from addressing gun violence to reproductive freedom, climate action, and prioritizing the needs of working families over big corporate special interests, the difference between having Mandela Barnes in the Senate or Ron Johnson could not be greater!

Mandela has built a record of accomplishment in Wisconsin. He was elected the state’s first Black Lieutenant Governor in 2018 and prior to that he served as a steadfast leader in the Wisconsin State Assembly. His record of service and unique perspective will be a welcome addition to the halls of the United States Senate.

Like my friend Senator Tammy Baldwin has done in Wisconsin, he is running a strong grassroots campaign and highlighting his record of standing up for the people of Wisconsin — while Ron Johnson has consistently sided with big money and special interest PACs like Big Pharma against the needs and interests of the people.

The Cook Political Report has rated this Senate Race a 'Toss-Up' and Mitch McConnell is going to fight like hell to try to keep this GOP seat from flipping. We just need to make sure that Mandela has what it takes to get his message out loud and clear, and let the voters of Wisconsin do the rest.
