In 2018, the DCCC waded into a competitive primary to back a pro-Trump “Democrat” with a 100% NRA rating in New Jersey’s 2nd district. Even though better candidates were running. He won a seat in Congress, and then just this week became one of only two Democrats to vote against impeachment.

Now, The Washington Post reports Rep. Van Drew is officially switching parties to become a Republican. What an embarrassment for the DCCC — to tip the scales in favor of a right-wing candidate, help him win election, and then have him switch parties in office.
