Greetings,

We hope you had a great week. This week, Congressman Kim was busy in the district speaking with community members about his work to help lower health and energy costs through the Inflation Reduction Act that was signed into law on Tuesday. He also enjoyed meeting with many of you at local events, including Evesham Police Department’s recent swearing in ceremony and at a veterans roundtable on Rowan College’s campus. He looks forward to more time out in the community getting to hear directly from you.

As always, we hope you find the following updates and resources helpful.

Congressman Kim Holds Telephone Town Hall on Inflation Reduction Act

On Monday, Congressman Kim hosted a telephone town hall to discuss the Inflation Reduction Act and how the bill will lower health care costs, prescription drug costs, and energy costs for New Jersey families. Included in the bill is Congressman Kim’s provision to cap out-of-pocket prescription drug costs so that no senior on Medicare pays more than $166 per month or $2,000 a year for the medication they need. Additionally, the Congressman was proud to support adding in a monthly cap so no senior ever pays more than $35 per month for their insulin.

He also answered questions from callers about the Inflation Reduction Act and how it is lowering prescription drug costs for seniors, how we are implementing the legislation’s relief as quickly as possible, helping combat local food insecurity, and advancing local New Jersey manufacturing and innovation though the CHIPS and Science Act that was signed into law on August 9, 2022.

A full recording of the town hall can be found here.
