This week, President Joe Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law, putting a nice cap on a string of big victories for Democrats in Congress and President Biden.

This legislation will help fight the climate change issues we’ve seen here in Arizona this summer – extreme heat and extreme drought – while also lowering prescription drug prices for those on Medicare. As another Democratic president said on social media, it’s a big deal.

Team, that’s part of the good news. The bad news is that every Republican voted against these measures. So if we let Republicans grab control of either chamber of Congress, we can kiss all progress goodbye. Democrats deliver with a list of accomplishments

The Inflation Reduction Act is monumental progress on its own. But our Democratic majority in Congress recently passed two other major bills.

The PACT Act will finally give our veterans coverage for exposure to toxic burn pits. After Republicans blocked this bill for weeks, President Biden recently signed it into law.

Add in legislation to bring semiconductor chips manufacturing back to the U.S. and it’s been a productive few weeks. This legislation is huge for Arizona, which has three chip facilities under construction right now.

It just goes to show, Democrats get stuff done when we’re in control. While this progress is nice, we know there’s more work to do – and it’s only going to happen if Democrats retain control.

Team, the political winds are shifting, and we have a chance to maintain control of Congress this midterm cycle.
