Working Families Party

John,

In just five days, longtime WFP champion Alessandra Biaggi will face off against corporate Democrat and DCCC Chair Sean Patrick Maloney for New York’s 17th Congressional district. If you’re not in New York, you may not care about this race, but please spare us a minute of your time to explain what this seat means for our movement.

Under Maloney’s leadership, the DCCC has spent nearly half a million dollars to prop up an extreme, Trump-aligned Republican congressional candidate, who won by a small margin in a Michigan primary a couple of weeks back.

In Texas, they supported Rep. Henry Cuellar — an anti-abortion, NRA-supporting corporate Democrat — against WFP champion Jessica Cisneros.

And in Oregon, they intervened against local Democrats’ wishes to support one of Big Pharma’s biggest supporters, Rep. Kurt Schrader, against the progressive Jamie McLeod-Skinner.

In primary elections across the country, we have seen time and time again that Sean Patrick Maloney’s DCCC too often does not represent working families — they represent their corporate donors.

We need to show Sean Patrick Maloney and the Democratic establishment that working people will not continue to stand by while they throw money behind anti-abortion, corporate-funded Democrats. And the race in NY-17 is our chance to show Sean Patrick Maloney that we are ready for change.

As a State Senator, Alessandra Biaggi helped codify Roe into state law and expand voting rights. We know that she will be a loud and proud champion for Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, and abortion rights when we send her to Congress. She’s proven she has what it takes to go up against powerful corporate Democrats and win.

There are only four days left before WFP champion Alessandra Biaggi takes on Sean Patrick Maloney. Please rush a donation to Biaggi’s campaign to fund GOTV efforts through Election Day.

With your help, we know that we can win this race, send Biaggi to Congress, and continue to build our Working Families Majority.

Together,

Team WFP
