Dear John xxxxxx,
I hope everyone across North Texas is doing well as summer is ending and we get into the fall. Here’s a brief update on what I have been working on in Washington, D.C., and back in North Texas.
Washington, D.C. Update: Legislation to Reduce Inflation, Lower Costs, Combat Climate Change
This week, President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law. The legislation that I proudly helped pass will lower costs, create millions of good-paying jobs by delivering the most significant action on climate in history, and dramatically reduce the deficit for people in Texas.
You can watch my video on the Inflation Reduction Act here. For more information about how the Inflation Reduction Act will help Texas, visit here.
North Texas Community Update
I have been busy when I am back in Texas, traveling across our 33rd district. Here are a few highlights of what I have done over the past few weeks:
As we celebrate National Black Business Month this August, I joined the owners of Black Coffee in East Fort Worth for my very first Marc Means Business initiative since the pandemic!
Rep. Veasey works a shift during Marc Means Business.
My Marc Means Business (MMB) gives me the opportunity to work shifts in businesses of all sizes across the Metroplex to learn how they help our community.
One of my favorite opportunities as your Congressman is connecting with constituents about everyday issues and what Congress can do to solve them. Over the past few weeks, I had the chance to discuss inflation, what Congress is doing to protect our freedoms, and much more during in-person town halls in Dallas and Fort Worth.

I joined Reps. Johnson (TX-30) and Allred (TX-32) for an annual Congressional Panel hosted by the Dallas Regional Chamber. We discussed how the Inflation Reduction Act, the Chips and Science Act, and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law are creating jobs and helping workers here in the Metroplex.

I met with local entrepreneurs who are working on technology solutions around infant mortality, energy-efficient vehicles, and more for Congressional Startup Day in Irving.

I look forward to continuing to see everyone out in our community!
