The things that divide us have been getting way too much airtime of late. I want to refocus, for a moment, on what unites us.

We support our country and our community here in Northwest Ohio. It has been my privilege to represent my friends and neighbors in Ohio’s 9th Congressional district.

This is a working-class district, and proud of it. Here we work hard, we’re union strong, and we look out for one another. Our family’s story could be anyone’s in the Ninth: my grandparents were all Polish immigrants, dad ran a small family grocery, and mom worked in a spark plug factory. My brother and I learned the value of a dollar, and of a loving community, from a very early age.

This community raised me, educated me, and chose me to represent all of us in Congress. I have spent my time in public service with a singular purpose: to make this community thrive and return what it’s given to me.

But, outside forces are trying to tear our community apart. The national GOP is dead set on handing over this district to an extremist who thinks Ohio should secede from the United States. Our opponent doesn’t represent this community, or America.
