The Trump administration is cutting nearly 700,000 Americans off of basic food assistance.

John, I am running for Congress because we need leaders with empathy.

Far too often, politicians lose sight of the human impact of their policies. As an ER physician, I've seen up close the human cost of policies that make it harder for people to pay for basic living necessities.

That's why I'm outraged by a new executive order from the Trump administration targeting the SNAP program, which helps low-income Americans afford daily food.

The Washington Post: Trump administration tightens work requirements for SNAP, which could cut thousands from food stamps

Under this new rule, nearly 700,000 Americans will be stripped of basic food assistance.

Many are disabled or working multiple part-time or seasonal jobs. This order won't help folks find steady jobs -- it simply makes struggling families struggle more.

We need to call this policy out for what it is: cruel.

Congress must immediately act to protect the Americans who will be hurt. Add your name and join me to call for these SNAP benefits to be restored. It is the right thing to do. >>

Thank you,

Hiral
