Great news! I was just endorsed by Giffords, one of the leading gun safety groups in the nation!

Maryland’s next Attorney General will be at the forefront of the fight for gun safety reform and protecting the existing safety measures we have. Ending gun violence is personal to me, and I'm grateful to have their support.

[[link removed]]Former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, who founded Giffords PAC, said this about the endorsement, " Attorneys general are a critical component of defending gun safety laws. As the gun lobby tries to overturn popular and effective gun violence prevention laws across the country, it is more important than ever to have gun safety champions serving in office and fighting back against these reckless lawsuits."

I couldn't agree more. Attorneys General across the country are doing critical work and are critical in our efforts for gun safety.

As Lt. Governor, I helped enact some of the nation’s best gun safety laws including background checks and training requirements for gun sales, as well as a ban on assault rifles and large-capacity magazines. And in Congress, I’ve stood up to the NRA and continued that work by pushing for universal background checks and restrictions on assault weapons.

But we know our work isn't finished. It’s going to fall to our next Attorney General to continue this fight for the people of Maryland.
