Hello Portlanders!
Just a quick end of summer check in with information re: Monday's Mayor Zoom at 3pm - and the need for community volunteers to apply for positions on Boards and Commissions. Thanks for your engagement - and I hope you get to enjoy the last days of summer before Labor Day!
Are you interested in public service - Interested in helping to make really important decisions that impact our community? If yes - please review the upcoming opportunities re: Boards, commissions, task forces, and committees which are an important part of Portland’s government. We need volunteers to help serve on several of our boards and committees.
City Clerk Ashley Rand is currently accepting applications for several vacancies listed below. Additional information is available on the City’s website or by calling 207-874-8677.

Upcoming Council Meetings:
Thursday September 1 - 5:00pm
This is a "Special Meeting" scheduled on this date for the purpose of holding Public Hearings on the Charter Commission's Recommendations, and Council consideration of action to place the recommendations on the November ballot. (There will be other, 'regular' city business on the agenda, too - but the special date was chosen because of deadlines re: public hearing requirements re: Charter Commission work.)

City Council Meetings: The Portland City Council meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month. In the case of a Monday holiday, we typically meet the next Wednesday. In the case of school vacation weeks, we typically push the meeting by a week. Agendas and Info, go here.
