Hi there,

A key to solving the climate crisis is to get large corporations to reduce their carbon footprint.

But to do so, we need to know what their footprint actually looks like.

SB 260, the Climate Corporate Accountability Act, would require the biggest corporations to publicly report their total carbon emissions. This would provide the public full access to transparent information about these corporations’ contributions to the climate crisis and allow the public, investors, and policymakers to better hold them accountable.

This is our sponsored bill, friend. Passing SB 260 is our top legislative priority in Sacramento for the year, and it’s going to be put to a floor vote in the State Assembly any day now.

Can I count on you to call your Assemblymember and make sure they’ll be voting YES on SB 260?

Ask your Assemblymember to vote YES on SB 260 ⤵

Right now, there are huge gaps of crucial information regarding the greenhouse gas emissions of large corporate polluters, especially in the private sector.

That’s for two reasons, friend: a lack of mandatory data collection and reporting requirements for corporate emissions.

These gaps make for an enormous blind spot — not only for the public but also for policymakers and investors — as we all strive to decrease greenhouse gas emissions to address the climate crisis.

Under the status quo, we have seen very few corporations willing to report their greenhouse gas footprint publicly. The majority of the largest companies with the biggest footprints don’t.

Friend, you deserve to know exactly how much they are polluting.

Passing SB 260 would put California at the forefront of climate leadership. I’m not being hyperbolic: SB 260 would be a game-changer and have ripple effects nationally and globally.

The State Senate has already passed SB 260. Now, this month, the Assembly has the opportunity to pass this historic climate legislation.

Tell your Assemblymember you are counting on them to support SB 260. Call and urge them to vote YES on SB 260!

Thank you, as always, for your support. We couldn’t do this without you.
