Hi Friends,
South Texas is no stranger to healthcare disparities. Over 43% of those on Medicare in the Rio Grande Valley have diabetes, coupled with some of the highest rates of Alzheimer’s and hypertension means high prescription drug prices for many who are on a fixed income.
I promised to fix that, and I am happy to report that with the enactment of the Inflation Reduction Act, we are delivering results and making strides to provide equitable and quality healthcare for our family and friends right here in the valley. The Inflation Reduction Act caps insulin costs at $35 a month, limits out-of-pocket cost for Medicare Part D Drugs, and allows Medicare to negotiate prices for life-saving medication.
As your voice in Congress, I want to hear from you:
WILL LOWER PRESCRIPTION DRUG PRICES HELP YOU?

Healthcare is a human right, not a privilege. As a historically overlooked community that lacks adequate investments in healthcare and is located one of the 12 states to not expand Medicaid, our community has been forced to pay exorbitant prices to receive life-saving medication or see a doctor. It is my priority to make sure South Texans are taken care of and that my constituents are healthy.
Sincerely,
Congressman Vicente Gonzalez
